Jewel Box Concerts

The Jewel Box Concerts at the Thomas Center are a series of multi-genre musical events staged in the historic Thomas Center’s Spanish Court. They feature a spectrum of national and international touring artists from folk to classical and from jazz to bluegrass, with special holiday shows and surprise guests. The Jewel Box Concerts at the Thomas Center are sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture.

The Thomas Center is located at 302 NE Sixth Ave. in Gainesville.

Award-winning Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis breathes new life into existing styles with a high-energy blend of classical, gypsy jazz and folk music. His improvised sound is totally new and has popular appeal.
Classically trained and widely regarded as Stéphane Grappelli’s heir, regularly on tour with the fiery European gypsy guitarists, Kliphuis is a highly personal and inspiring performer, composer and educator.
He has shared the stage with legends Frankie Gavin, Richard Galliano and Les Paul and has been lauded for his musical genius by Nigel Kennedy.

Grammy-award winner Peter Rowan is a singer-songwriter with a career spanning over five decades. From his early years playing under the tutelage of Bluegrass veteran Bill Monroe, to his time in Old & In the Way and his breakout as a solo musician and bandleader, Rowan has built a devoted, international fan base through a solid stream of recordings, collaborative projects, and constant touring.

Sam Pacetti is one who brings it all together. A finger-style guitar wizard. A deft songwriter, capable of haunting depth and wry humor in the space of one song.
